Thanks to their excellent buoyancy, fine structure and ease of use, CDC feathers are among the most popular natural materials for tying dry flies. The soft fibres give flies a light, natural appearance and remain attractively mobile, even in the gentlest current.

CDC is widely used for dry-fly wings, posts and hackles. It is also ideal for emergers, midge pupae and mayfly patterns designed to sit in or just below the surface film. Individual CDC fibres can also be used as dubbing to create soft, airy bodies.
